Grant was a great host! He showed us around and was available for anything we may have needed. We spent our time hiking on the property, relaxing by the fire and sleeping outside at the treehouse listening to nature. It was very peaceful and everything we needed. My son loved the extra touch of the fairies in the forest and my dogs enjoyed playing in the creek. I would definitely recommend this place!

This was the perfect spot for a reset for my husband and I. We loved everything about it. We plan on going back once he’s home from deployment so we can relax together. The waterfall is beautiful. The night sky is even better. Highly recommend staying.

We loved our stay! It was so relaxing & peaceful. We ended up staying in the log cabin & it was clean & comfortable. We sat out on the porch a lot & enjoyed the tranquillity. I wish I had enough character text space to properly adequate how much we loved this property. Grant was more than gracious with his time and took us exploring all over the land. We hiked, jumped in creeks, took pictures behind the waterfall, made fairy huts and explored the fairy forest, had dinner and breakfast on the deck and fell asleep to the tune of the rain on the tin roof. It was magical and we cannot wait to go back!

Grant and Becky were very welcoming upon arrival. Grant gave us a grand tour of the property and helped give us a better idea of all the beautiful scenery we can explore. THIS TREEHOUSE IS A BUCKET LIST THING FOR MOST! We recommend you stay outside on the deck and indulge in the sounds of nature. Everything you need is mostly there to help accommodate. We will be back to see the many campsites he has to offer.

I absolutely loved our stay, you were so close to the waterfall that you could hear it and fall asleep to its noise. The treehouse was amazing and had everything you needed to cook or keep the bugs away and there was plenty of places to sleep with plenty of blankets and pillows. We even had a guard frog that hung around until morning. I do plan coming back again. Thank you for having us 🥰

Staying at the Beech Treehouse was fabulous! The house and property was just the right amount of “glamping” to be able to unplug and experience nature while still having somewhere comfy to come back to after spending the day adventuring and exploring the property. The hike down to some of the sites are no joke, but the land is absolutely breathtaking regardless of how far you’re able to go.

We stopped here on our way up to Chicago and it was such a perfect overnight stay. The place itself is so unique and fun. We got to sleep outside pretty much on the back deck and it stormed all night so it was such a relaxing, good sleep. The bugs weren’t too bad at all considering we were sleeping outside. We cooked dinner and breakfast and had everything we needed. It hadn’t rained in a while so the waterfall wasn’t flowing, more of a trickle but it was still so beautiful. We hiked around the property and loved that. We would absolutely stay again and maybe try one of the other unique places they have on their property.

Grant was an amazing host! He was available to take us down to the treehouse so we didn’t get lost and gave us a tour. He designed and built most everything on their property and his passion shows! You can really tell he loves what he does which I so appreciate! He made himself available for anything we may need throughout our stay. The treehouse was incredible! Clean and cozy and private! A great place to go as an intro to camping if you don’t want to dive right into tent life.

The treehouse was absolutely amazing. It is extremely unique and the deck that overlooks the drop off with the waterfall sound all night was perfect. The additional trails were amazing and easily accessible. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere but you have conveniences of grocery and restaurants within 15 to 20 minutes. I would highly recommend this location for your next stay.

Just had an Amazing 2 day stay at the Beech Treehouse. Everything was wonderful! The falls were beautiful, the treehouse was clean and had Everything we needed. Shower was awesome, bed was comfortable. Grant took my daughter and I riding on the side by side.. we toured the other sites and he told us a very special fairy story that we will remember for years to come. Thank y'all for the kindness 💓 we will definitely be back! TIP: Be sure and book directly from their website (you will avoid fees)! TIP: bring chairs for around the fire (we almost forgot ours) :) If your hot natured, you might wanna bring a fan.. we stayed cool enough- the falls do provide a nice breeze at PM, but summer months could be hot. They have heaters. *There is a sav-a-lot + FRED'S down the road & a new DGeneral Marketplace- (which is down a bit further.)Just had an Amazing 2 day stay at the Beech Treehouse. Incredible site and even better hosts. It was so nice to detach from my phone, laptop and tv. My son and I spent quality time together both indoors and out. The waterfall and surrounding area is mind blowing! There are lots of trails and places to explore on site. The treehouse was awesome! The mattress’ were comfy and lots of blankets and space heaters to keep us comfy! I can’t wait to return.

We had a great time at the Treehouse on Grant & Becky's land. Went in Feb for my husbands birthday & took our 2 young daughters and family dog. We weren't sure what the weather would be this time of year as it can fluctuate greatly. Of course we were hoping to luck out and have warmer temps so we could sleep outside and hear the waterfall, but we ended up with lows in the 30s highs in the 50s. The treehouse kept us plenty warm though. Woke up to beautiful snow falling the first morning. The outhouse composting toilet was very clean and they provide plenty of sawdust to cover smells. Plenty of blankets and futon mattresses for comfort. We cooked all our meals at the treehouse with no issues. Bring your own charcoal for the grill. Pros/cons to going in the winter months: the views were great with less foliage on the trees. The waterfall was gushing and hiking was enjoyable. The stars were fantastic as well. Only con is with the higher elevation a little chilly so bundle up. Grant & Becky are very kind hosts and were available for anything we needed. Grant even took us on a ride around the property and shared a story about the fairies that live there and showed the girls where they hibernate in the winter. We added the welding project to our stay and had a great time being creative and made a mushroom yard ornament to take home.

Wonderful time, secluded, peaceful (almost a metaphoric meditated experience) with the ability to sleep well, hike, shower, have a campfire and just be unplugged for a couple of days. Place is very organized and retreat-like experience. You have everything you need here at the beech house and also town is about 6 minutes away, but we stayed primarily at the beech house. Also, visited Foster Falls 15 minutes away while there for 2 nights. Thank you Grant and Becky, we would love to come back and possibly even bring friends!

I had a good time. Was very peaceful. My first time having to use a compost toilet but I think I did well lol. If you're looking for a place just to get away for a few days and to enjoy some fresh crisp air this is the place to be. Only thing which was not their fault is that Verizon did not have good reception up there. But my mind needed to be clear anyway so it was a bonus

The waterfall was dry so that was disappointing but it was still beautiful and worth the trip. I loved sitting on the porch drinking coffee. The treehouse is very cool and the deck dropping off into the trees and cliff is awesome! The hiking in the area is amazing! We would have loved the indoor/outdoor living space to be fully screened not partially screened so that there would be an area to sit away from bugs. Due to lack of rain the waterfall was dry during our stay which isn’t in anyones control but as a result there wasn’t anywhere to cool off as we had expected, however, I’m sure in less hot months it would’ve been great. Might be my fault but I did not find it clear from the listing that there would be other campers so we were surprised to hear music and dogs barking from other sites. Also would note that the composting toilet is in an outhouse not attached to the actual cabin. The nearest town is very small and conservative which may be worth noting for some more liberal or obviously non-white/cis-gendered people.

What an amazing stay we had at the Beech Treehouse to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We played yatzee, & phase 10, drank wine, enjoyed a fish dinner outside on the porch. Slept well upstairs. Woke up and enjoyed coffee & yoga on the deck with the sounds of nature. It was an incredible stay. My daughter and I absolutely fell in love with the treehouse. Grant was a great host and kept in constant communication to ensure he met us upon arrival. We explored the trails and waterfall. We made a nice little bonfire & slept outside on the futon. It was very private & we felt perfectly safe. The outhouse was very clean & the shower was awesome. We were sad that we had not planned to stay longer, but we will be back again (hopefully with a few friends and family). I would highly recommend this to anyone!!

I loved the way that Grant had built the treehouse from repurposed materials. It was really well done and so fun to sleep in! I chose to put the futon right on the outside area so I could sleep in the trees. Weirdly enough, I didn’t see a single mosquito or barely any bugs. I live in North Carolina and it was a treat not to get eaten alive. I also did a welding class with Grant and was really happy with the dragonfly garden ornament I made.

Had a short but unbelievable visit, what a unique location! Loved it there, only regret was that we weren't able to stay longer. Beautiful deck and view and the waterfall was incredible too! Grant & Becky were friendly and welcoming. We combined this stay with a concert at the nearby Caverns, another incredible venue. Came back from the concert and got to enjoy watching fireflies from the deck and listening to the relaxing sound of the waterfall. We will definitely be back with plans to spend more time there.

This place is incredible! The views are amazing and the little touches to this place made it just perfect! My boyfriend and I slept on the futon out on the balcony. We got to fall asleep to the sounds of the waterfall, views of the beautiful canopy and tons of lightning bugs 😍 While our kids were loving life sleeping in the loft up above. The shower made me never want to leave. Our hosts were gracious, giving us info on the surrounding area, as well as giving us a tour of the property and a sneak peek at the yurt they also have available for rent (also super cute with breathtaking views!) My husband and I traveled down from Michigan to stay in the Beech Treehouse for our 20th wedding anniversary. This place was such a dream come true with its artful charm, breathtaking sites and sounds and amazing hosts! Listening to the waterfall just yards away from the treehouse was bliss, especially at night when we slept outside on the futon ( the best nights sleep we have had in a long time!) next time we come to stay here we will definitely plan to stay longer!!!

If I could rate this 6 stars, I would. I don’t even really want to leave this good review because I want to be able to rent it again in the future and if y’all know how cool it is, it’ll be booked up. My husband and I stayed in the Beech Tree House for three nights. Though in exploring the property, all the rentals at Sewanee Creek are well thought out experiences. Keep your expectations in check, this is still glamping and you are in nature. There will be sounds, smells and critters that go along with that. But that being said, the tree house is my version of paradise. It is steps away from a waterfall, has a creative hot shower, a fire pit, a fairly comfortable place to sleep, and no visible neighbors from the site. It’s an awesome place to reconnect with the outdoors. And Grant is a very friendly host with just the right amount of advice for your stay without imposing. We loved chatting with him about his property and what to do in the area. I feel like we just stayed with a friend.

Everything was terrific from the time we headed out. The drive up the mountain was gorgeous. When we arrived we were welcomed with smiles and wonderful hospitality. The home was so cozy and inviting, it was perfect for our stay. Our host Grant was very helpful took us around and showed us all that we needed to explore and see on our stay. My mom and I recently enjoyed a stay at the On The Beech Treehouse and are still reveling over our time there. When we arrived, Grant met us promptly at their home on the property and caravanned us about a quarter mile back to the treehouse. He took time to introduce us to the space and the surrounding land. Within 50 feet from the treehouse is a creek funneling into a gorgeous waterfall cascading down shelves of mossy rocks. The soothing sound of the falls and creek can be heard inside of the the treehouse even with the doors closed. Utterly amazing! We quickly cozied up and soaked in the atmosphere. We cooked a pasta dinner on the stove top, played cards at the table, and slept soundly on the mattress upstairs in the loft. When we woke up in the morning, we went for a little hike on the property that Grant pointed out for us that starts literally right outside the door. The trail led down a couple of switchbacks to the bottom of the falls. We were able to stand in a natural grotto behind the waterfall. Purely magical! We found ourselves saying “WOW” in amazement continuously throughout our stay. Our hosts, Grant and Becky, were nothing short of incredible and we would recommend this treasure to any and all who enjoy a simplistic and serene getaway. We’re so grateful for the welcoming hospitality and the unforgettable experience! We will be back!

We had the most beautiful trip thanks to Grant and Becky! We had all the amenities and more which lent to comfort and ease for our family of 6 (myself, my husband, kids: 1,5,7 and our dog!). A hot shower, a place to lay our head, a compostable toilet (our boys LOVED ha) a kitchen with essentials, charcoal grille for cooking, fire pit etc. It was made all the sweeter by a literal pull of a curtain and 2 step walk from our bed to under the starts. We drank coffee on the porch, fell asleep to the sound of the woods and woke up to birds. The boys had a blast finding toads, roasting no marshmallows and exploring the nearby water. We wandered hiked Greeter Falls and Foster Falls but didn’t make it to Fiery Gizzard as we hoped because our crew was TIRED! We’re calling it our weekend unplugged and hoping for an adult-only getaway here again after getting a taste of it. We left with some many memories and an enormous amount of gratitude for our hosts, their hospitality, and the little touches that enhanced and already wonderful experience. Thank you Grant and Becky!

Forest Bathing at its finest! The Treehouse on the Beech wonderful rustic stay. A bed above a waterfall no better sleep than that! All the little creature comforts without all the hoopla. Hot shower after a day on the trails and by the fire is a must. Cozy spot that you feel secluded but not a long drive. We soaked up the nature and solitude. Played some Boggle drank some coffee and got some much needed R&R. We will be back!

We stayed in the treehouse April 19-21 and had an amazing time. I was blown away. Pictures just don't do the treehouse or property justice. It was very cold the last day we were there, but it was fine, because the Millers had supplied 2 space heaters for us to use. I ordered firewood and champagne and it was waiting for us when we arrived. I loved just roaming around in the woods and laying in bed, listening to the waterfall. We also visited the historic Dutch Maid bakery. The chuck wagin bread is so good, I'm ordering some to be sent through the mail and the cream horns were to die for. I absolutely cannot wait to go back. Unfortunately...as soon as we got back home, i fell off my own patio and broke my leg :/ so, I'll return in spirit before I'm able to visit again. 100% wonderful host. Oh and Grant...sorry about the champagne glass. I left $5 on the counter :( hope it covers it.

Beatiful property. Lots of private space, wild flowers, birds and butterflies beside the waterfall and hiking options. We loved taking a nap on the grass in the afternoons and star gazing at night as well

I love this place. Had booked it needing to get away for a quick minute from city living. Only regret is not having booked for much longer. We really enjoyed the property and the tree house was situated just right. The shower was roomy and super relaxing after hiking around the waterfall. We spent most of our time stargazing. The property is open in front of the tree house so plenty of space to set your blanket down to look up. Grant was great! We definitely plan to come back with our friends.

Beautiful waterfall just beyond the treehouse! Our dog Bolt loved it! My second favorite feature was the hot, hot shower. I loved the creative touches to the building of this treehouse. We made some awesome BBQ on the deck and played songs on our guitar. Kitchen was great with pans, burners and a mini fridge, but we didn’t need it since we brought our own supplies and coolers. Made a nice fire and played the game Bananagrams before retiring in the upstairs bedroom. Grant and Becky were so sweet. Becky welcomed us and showed us around upon arrival, and Grant bailed us out of the mud when we got stuck on the way out ;)! Our trip was adventurous, mostly relaxing, and a wonderful private getaway. We would love to stay here again—maybe at the glamping tent closer to the falls! Becky, we stopped at the Mountain Goat Market like you recommended, and we LOVED their pizza! Outdoorsy people: before checking into Grant and Becky’s property, we did a 5mile bike ride at Mountain Goat Trail, stopped by the beautiful Fiery Gizzard Trail, threw a few lines in Grundy Lake and stared at some old Coke ovens!

This was an absolutely beautiful and breathtaking place. Was perfect for a nice quiet relaxing weekend. Just sitting on the porch looking over the cliff listening to the waterfall with coffee and a book. The place had everything I needed. From kitchenware to furnishings. We had a really great time even in the middle of winter! Such a cute little cabin with cool features like the deck overlooking the cliff and a really short walk to the waterfall, that you can hear the whole time. Grant was really friendly and had two space heaters for us. Everything you could need was there like a hot plate and pans and a grill outside. I would absolutely recommend this spot and I hope to go back in the summer!

First off Grant was a excellent host. Me my spouce and our dog stayed 2 nights in the tree house. We met Grant at the front house and were escorted over to the tree house. We talked for a minutes and grant offers to show us around the property wich offers cabins, glamping canvas tents with all the amenities necessary yurts and other very unique stuctures. Many of the materials used for all his structures were repurposed wich i loved! Just a short walk maybe 300ft were the falls. And a beautiful stream. To walk along. If you feel like a little challenging hike. You can follow the stream down about a 1/4 mile and find another large waterfall. Grant and Becky were wonderful hosts. The communication was great, and we appreciated how they aquainted us with the area when we arrived so we could feel confident wondering their incredibly beautiful property. Words could not do the waterfall justice. The cabin itself was unique and well thought through. We had everything we needed, including lots of hot water (which was nice after a day of hiking) and a deck that made star gazing one of our favorite parts of the trip. I would highly recommend this spot and hope to get back up on the mountain again soon.

This place is truly magical. The tent is so close to the waterfall that you fall asleep listening to it. There’s something so calming & soothing about hearing that rushing water the entire duration of your stay. Grant & Becky keep this place spotlessly clean and are always around to answer questions, provide tours, or help however they can during your visit. We had such a wonderful time all weekend and we simply stayed on property and explored the creek, waterfalls and natural trails. The beds were comfy and that tent has everything you need to glamp in style. I can’t say enough about this place. We will be back when it’s warmer to really enjoy the waterfall & creek :)

We did the welding experience with Grant, and were blown away with his talent and with the care he took to make this experience so special for our kids. This treehouse is so magical. It rained for our entire visit and yet we had the loveliest time grilling on the deck, hiking in our rain jackets and hearing the waterfall gather more power! Grant is welcoming and the grounds are beautiful.

Great spot for a quick getaway from the city. The cabin was clean and pretty well stocked with essentials. The sound of the waterfall at night was great. The rugged hike along the creek was very peaceful as well. As a heads up, neither my partner nor I had cellphone service but in our case that was a positive. The site was not as quite as expected, you can hear the next campsite over very clearly due to the echo of the valley and also there is another larger cabin 150 yards or so away so if that cabin is also occupied then there may be some noise. Other than those small things, the cabin was pretty and clean and the property was very nice to explore.

I had an amazing week at the Tree House. It has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. The waterfall was slim due to dry weather but it was still beautiful. I was able to sit underneath It to cool off after a long hike down the creek. I took the short hike down to the rock overhang that sits below the treehouse. I found that it was a very nice place to have my quiet time. It’s a great spot to read, pray, meditate, and re-energize your soul. I can’t begin to describe how beautiful and peaceful the land is. If you’re a nature lover, you will not be disappointed in this place. The waterfall, the bluff, and the creek was like a little slice of heaven. Grant and his wife were amazing hosts. I called to let them know I had car trouble and would arrive a day late. They both checked on me the next day to make sure I was okay. Once there, they made sure I had everything I needed. They are genuinely kind and I would definitely book with them again.

We really enjoyed our stay. Grant is very accommodating and shows you directly to the falls as soon as you arrive. Our treehouse was a lot of fun to stay in. We loved the architecture and even took home ideas to make our home a little more eco-friendly. We had a blast exploring South Cumberland State Park. Our hike around Foster Falls was an extraordinary experience.

Wow! On the Beech Tree House was such a great experience. Small, secluded, and exceeded all of our expectations. The property was large and beautiful. We hiked down the creek from the gorgeous waterfall and down the Sewanee creek to a neat cavern. The hike was very challenging, due to slippery rocks, but very rewarding. I definitely recommend staying on the Miller’s property and would absolutely return.

The treehouse was such a neat little getaway, and the surrounding area was beautiful! The treehouse was well thought out, and had lots of special touches that you don’t notice in pictures. Well would definitely return, but next time we would bring an air mattress, a fan, and a Thermacell or other bug repellent. The downstairs sleeping area is actually on a porch— there are heavy duty canvas curtains to fully enclose it, and with the windows open it was cool and comfortable to sleep, but we did encounter bugs while sleeping. There is a fold-out foam mattress upstairs and a futon downstairs. The foam mattress was fine, but the futon wasn’t the most comfortable to sleep on. For most of our stay, there was enough breeze to be comfortable, but in the heat of the afternoon we were wishing we had a fan or air conditioning. The hosts were great and offered several unique camping options on the same property, but all secluded from one another and felt very private. I definitely recommend!

We had originally planned a 2 week beach vacation that was canceled due to COVID-19, but I think I was actually happier staying at the tree house. First off, let me tell you that in the 5 days I was there, I did not get a single mosquito bite, even without bug spray! I'm a mosquito magnet, so it was amazing. It was quiet, secluded (but not too much) and ridiculously peaceful. Being able to check out from the modern world for 5 days was just what I needed to destress. Mornings were spent sipping coffee by the creek letting crawdads nibble at my toes and many afternoons were spent napping to the sounds of the waterfall. It does get a little chilly at night, so be sure to bring a long sleeve shirt or two and a few extra blankets. Everything was exceptionally clean and I felt right at home. There was plenty to do on site, but we couldn't pass up all the beautiful state parks nearby. Grant was an amazing host who went out of his way to make us feel welcomed. We will definitely come again!

We were very happy with this property! The treehouse is one of the neatest and coolest places I’ve ever stayed and the waterfall is literally in your backyard! It does sit on a cliff and I would be very careful with dogs and children. I would bring linens, towels and paper ware/silverware. Owners are very nice. I would stay more than one day because you can’t check in till 3 and you have to check out by 10 that way you can really soak in the beautiful and neatness of the area! Maybe bring a light jacket or sweater for the night time. We will be back!

Grants description of the wonder of this treehouse and the subsequent reviews by other hip campers did not disappoint. He definitely knows the selling points of this awesome place because he carefully and intentionally planned out this treehouse as well as every cabin/tent on his property. It truly is a very good chance to immerse yourself in nature, an especially beautiful one at that. He pays attention to every detail and it really shows and makes this stay one you can’t miss out on. Grant was very responsive and informative when we needed him, but also gave us full privacy during our stay. We used this treehouse as a getaway for my birthday and our first anniversary, and a chance to escape from all the craziness going on. It did not disappoint and we will most definitely be back.

Great place to stay and wonderful hosts! Beautiful view overlooking a forest with a waterfall just nearby. Porch shielded us from the cold wind but gave a great outdoor feel. Grant showed us the premises when we first arrived and had great recommendations for activities in the area. Fire pit came with some wood but also plenty to use from the nearby forest.
